"The Producers" on Christmas Day??

Do you think Jason Alexander and Martin Short will be performing in The Producers at the 12/25 8:00pm performance? I've never had occassion to view a hit play on a holiday. I was afraid they'd have understudies on this day but my husband thinks perhaps Jason Alexander and Martin Short may both be Jewish so maybe they will perform. Anyone have experience seeing a hit play on Christmas day?

The question you should be asking is whether the musical will be performing that day! You can find that out by checking ticket availability.

Personally, I don't think one's religion will have that much to do with whether or not the two stars perform on that day. Having said that, however, there's still no guarantee that they will perform that day. Further, what happened with one play on Christmas Day doesn't mean the same thing would happen with this production.
I guess what I'm saying is that unless the someone from the production will "admit" it that either or both will or will not perform, you've really no way of knowing for sure.

12/31 is the night of their first performance per Nathan Lane in the NY Post.

Lmaev, the production being discussed here is the LA one at the Pantages. But that's interesting-- they're going to move to the NY one? I wonder who will replace them here in LA?

The LA production is scheduled to close January 4, so there is no need for replacements there.
Both Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick will return to the NY production December 31 for three months. Interest in tickets is already very high!
