The Producers - balcony
How are the balcony seats at the St. James. We'll be seating in Row B of the balcony. Some posts say the balcony is great cause the theater is designed well...and other posts say there's a bar blocking your view. What's the truth. I can handle the truth.

Balcony seats are great..we had aisle seats about 3 rows back and it was perfect! Have a great time~
Agree with mia absolutely. There are some things, like the formations made by the dancers, that you probably don't get from orchestra seats.
Sat in the balcony and laughed my head off. This show is so funny that it won't matter where you sit.
If I could see it again, I would sit anywhere! It is a good theatre for seating, pretty much all seats are ok, I like the balcony, but be warned:) the ladies bathroom is upstairs and there is a line down the block at intermission~
Also saw it in the balcony during previews. It was fab! If anyone can play to the back of the house, it's Nathan Lane.

Enjoy!!!
Formations made by the dancers?
I can't recall any formations made by the dancers.

The theater is such that the balcony isn't terribly far from the stage compared to larger theaters.
The show's great. Go and don't worry about the seats.
(BTW, good orchestra seats are now up around $1200 each for weekend eves. Take your extra $$ and have a great weekend out).
The dancers formed a swastika during Springtime for Hitler. It was easy to see in the mirror behind the dancers. We sat in the mezzanine. Seats were great, but VERY tight. The show is fantastic.
The dancers do the whole Busby Berkely thing ~ In the balcony right near the railing is the best, you are almost looking straight into their faces~
Straight into their faces?
The balcony is like 35-40 feet above the stage and about 15-20 orchestra rows back from the stage as I recall.
OK, Jimmie Stewart-since we are being exactly precise here and no exaggeration is allowed.......
It FEELS like you are looking right into their faces, although Jimmie, you remember, the stage is higher than the seats in the orchestra? Have you seen this play or are you just being annoying?
Scott,
The Producers is the hottest ticket in NY at the moment, I would take anything you can get just to see it. Sat in the Mezzanine a month ago, the show was just great. Be forwarned though, the seats are so small and tight it makes coach on an airplane look good.
