The Peabody on Intl Drive in Orlando
what's the Peabody like? I will be going for a conference the early part of October and I've never heard of the place. Anybody know?
|
Have stayed there a few times. Nice hotel. They have ducks that they parade down the stairs on a red carpet twice a day.
|
It's the nicest hotel on Int'l Drive.
Business oriented, not resort-y, but very well done and service-oriented.
|
I think they have recently done some renovations within the last year so it should be okay. When in Orlando find out if the Grand Cypress Hotel is doing their famous brunch. They open the kitchen of the restaurant downstairs and do their version of a French Market champagne brunch with everything from crab legs, fresh fruit, waffles, venison, fresh fish, eggs, etc. Really worth a visit!

I don't think it's the nicest hotel on I-Drive (I think the Omni Rosen and Renaissance definitely are as nice or nicer), but it a great place. Make sure you see the "duck walk" as it's only done in Orlando and Memphis.

Everyone has an opinion.
If you believe that the truth is in the consensus of mass opinion, then the Peabody is the best hotel on International Drive.
Higher rated than the Renaissance or Omni by readers of Zagat, anyway.

I've stayed at the Peabody, only seen the other two.
Peabody would surely be my choice of the three.

I live in Orlando and I'm very familiar with the Peabody Hotel. Very classy hotel. Good location.

We stayed at the Peabody in August for a meeting. It is a nice hotel. Very business oriented. I took 2 kids along and they were soon bored by the lap pool and mini game room, not much else for them to do. Otherwise, for a short business stay I would say it is fine.
