The new De Young Museum is open
 

For those of you visiting the city (and those of us that live in the area too), the new De Young is open now and it is spectacular.

Hey, Bill,
It's been a long while since I visited the De Young, so thank you for letting us know. Next trip to San Francisco, I'll be there!

They've been working on the new one for five years and I just sort of forgot about it until about a week ago when all the pre-opening publicity started.

I saw pictures of it and really want to work the new building into one of my visits down. I'll miss the old place though..it was just there for so long and was such a classic building but the new one looks fabulous.

Thank you so much for telling us. I plan to include it on our upcoming trip. (See they just purchased a painting by one of my teachers--Mel Ramos--which will make it even more fun!)
