The Lion King- seat question Minskoff Theater NY
I am taking my 10 year old son to the Lion King in New York. I was naturally going o try to get Center Orchestra seats via a broker...then I thought I may may regret paying $200 a ticket to find him unable to see. Is the Mezz a better deal for him?

I always prefer seats a bit further back for performances like this. There is so much going on on the stage that when you sit close, you miss a lot of what is going on to the sides of the stage. We saw Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat at this theater many years ago. We sat very near the back but in the middle. There was a group of young children around us. I don't remember hearing any complaints about seeing. Enjoy! It is a wonderful production.

This is a big show - so I wouldn't sit too close. I would go for row 14 to 16 in the center of the orchestra - assuming your 10 year old isn't too short. If he's really tiny I wold go for the first row of the mezzanine.

I've been twice both times in the balcony. Best place to sit. You can see everything.

3 seats on front row mezzanine...thanks for your great advice!

Kjlut, in case you are still reading - how were your seats? I am also taking a child (a 6 yr old, so even smaller than yours) and I have a choice of Row A in the mezz (front row), but seats in the 130's (so a bit off to the side), OR Row C of the mezz but seats in the mid-120's (so right in the middle of the row). I'm sure they are both great seats, but do you have any opinion which is better? Much thanks.
