THE KEYS....HELP

O.K I am confused. I posted earlier. Me and my girlfriend are going to SOBE for 8 days and then to the Keys for 3. We want some night life. Nothing crazy just some restaraunts and maybe a few bars. Key West is out and I was down to Key Largo or Marathon then Islamorada was thrown in by someone. When mostly want to relax but be able to do some activities and go out at night. We want somewhere really beautiful( or as close as possible for the Keys). And want to stay on the beach. Sorry to be so broad. Someone mentioned Holiday Isle( and thank you) but it looked too touristy and CRAZY. Just too add some confusion want the carribean feel. I greatly appreciate the responses...I'll send a check out to everyone....)

Holiday Isle is about the only nightlife you will find other than a few wayward bars.

There is more going on in Islamorada than Key Largo and Marathon but it is still a quiet place.

Pines and Palms, Cheeca Lodge, and The Hampton Inn are all good places to stay. All beaches in the keys are tiny and man made.

Islamorada is beautiful buy you need to get out on the water to see the real beauty.

World Wide Fisherman (name throws it off) bar Zane Greys as well as The Lorelei are fun places to party but they close by midnight.

Sorry to say there isnt much nightlife in the keys except for key west. Holiday isle is crazy, packed with college kids during these months, definately not a carribean feel.

Key largo, islamarada, marathon are the larger of the built up keys with local bars and local flavor. Why is key west out? You could stay near key west on summerland key which would only be a short drive to key west. Enjoy your trip.

Beautiful peaceful place in Key Largo... Kona Kai. Great hosts but not much nightlife except for a couple of places with music. Drinks at the Caribbean Club where some of the movie Key Largo was filmed. Parmer's Place just below Big Pine Key is really relaxing and out of the way. 30 miles to Key West if you crave more than a drink in a quiet bar.

Just a little correction to the above post: Key West is nearly 100 miles from Key Largo and is about a 2 hour drive.
