The Club at Hammock Beach
Hi,
I won a trip to Daytona for Biketoberfest from the Discovery Channel. They just changed our hotel to: The Club at Hammock Beach 200 Ocean Crest Drive Palm Coast, Florida 32137 It looks gorgeous on the web site, but I was wondering if anyone here has stayed there or has any inside info. Thanks! |
Considering Hammock Beach for Labor Day. Has anyone stayed here? Also, is there anything to do in Palm Coast?

Have stayed there 3 times, read my review from April on Tripadvisor.com. The service was very spotty but the resort itself is quite nice. There is a hefty 10% of your room rate as a "personal concierge" which is way out of line. Our personal concierge services were nowhere to be found our entire stay except newspaper outside of our door 2 of the 4 days. Food was good.
Daytona is 30 mins from Palm Coast. However the hotel is the nicest in the area. You will also be 30 mins south of St. Augustine. Regarding Palm Coast, it is still kind of like a small town at this point though the population is quickly increasing. There are no fine dining restaurants and mostly lower to middle run restaurants like Denny's, Bob Evans, Cracker Barrel, Ruby Tuesday, etc. Regarding Palm Coast, there aren't really any attractions except for the beach. There is a new movie theatre being built. For a bit of culture you will have to drive to St. Augustine. Nice things to do there. We have a home in Palm Coast and used to stay at the Lodge while our house was being built. There are a lot of transplants from the northeast plus natives from the south. There is Marineland Sea Park in the area but we haven't had a chance to visit yet. Any more questions, don't hesitate to ask:) |
Wondered if you could tell me what the beach is like. One post said it was a coral/shell beach vs. sand for walking. Thank-you.

It has an excellent walking beach. There are shells as with all beaches but not the type that cuts your feet. Very easy to walk w/o shoes.

ps, do sign up for the mail/email specials. We were just sent a summer promo for 2 massages or rounds of golf at $250/nt but we weren't able to take advantage of it.
