The Borders Lodge or The Charter

I'm heading out to Beaver Creek next week for a friend's wedding and I'm trying to figure out where I want to stay after the wedding. I'm a snowboarder and I'm looking for ski in ski out accommodations slopeside. I've narrowed it down to The Borders Lodge and The Charter. I've checked out both of their websites (http://www.theborderslodge.com and http://www.thecharter.com) but I haven't been able to tell which would be better for snowboarders. If you've been boarding at Beaver Creek and stayed at either of these hotels, please let me know which one is best.

Thanks a lot!!

I have checked, Gretchen. They both have good prices and lots of rooms available since it's nearing the end of the season. I've been to resorts in the past that haven't taken to snowboarders very well. I'm just trying to stay somewhere where I can have a good time and not have to worry about much else.

I think snowboarding has gone pretty legit--have your own areas at the slopes--as well as just the mountain.
Haven't been to BC forever so can't say. This is a great part of the ski season I think. They get more snow in March--and a lot of spring break folks. That was when we always went. I think the snow this season has been pretty poor though. Too bad.
Slopeside is always more fun. ;o)

I fail to see what being a boarder has to do with it. A fuller explanation might be in order. What is the dates of you visit? The snow is fine so not sure what Gretchen is alluding to but she doesn't live either.

I do believe that early in the season the snow was a little sparse. Glad it isn't now.

Snow is always a little sparse early in the season. Cannot start with two feet. Skied ten days ago at Breck and it was excellent. Just back from a week at Aspen and the snow was very good. However, with the temps of spring ski and the crowds it will degrade if we don't get additional snow. Now it will be a function of how much snow we can get on a regular basis.

Back to the original question. I am familiar with The Charter but never heard of The Border Lodge. I finally found it on the map and now I know why. I would opt for The Charter. Both are somewhat on the edge of Beaver Creek but The Charter is closer to the center of BC and far easier to ski in and out. If all things are equal The Charter is a much better location. BC has a decent, on call, bus system so you could get around if you stayed at the Border
