Do not let them pooh, pooh her. That is absolutely ridiculous that they would do that and bordering on malpractice. Sometimes I wish there was an ability to transfer pain to those who won't believe. DD was told to take up to 5 advils and add in tylenol which didn't work. I'd like to know how many serious cases receive relief from non-steroidals.

Birdie - that is what they told us as well. I suffered horrible and am in a way glad because I know what it is like - and was dx with endo in my 30's after suffering for 20 years! We go back next week and I am going to insist this time. I had to give her 1/2 of a pain pill to help her feel better. :(

I loved your TR, Mom DD! Your daughter is beautiful--what a gorgeous smile! What a wonderful trip! My DD and I are going to NY in May--we haven't been since she was 11 (she is now 24) and we are so excited!

I don't want to derail your lovely thread, but I hope you are able to get your DD some help--how sad she had to miss part of her trip suffering like that. Speaking as someone who had similar issues as a teen, it was dreadful; I wondered how I would ever be able to get a job, etc.

I forgot to add we did go into St. Patricks (I sort of forgot but saw my photos :) - it was lovely and worth going into imo.

MomDDTravel, theatre is a great way to bond with your daughter. Mine is now 21 and we went to many musicals while she was growing up and still enjoy seeing a show together. I found that as she entered her later teens she spent more time with her friends/boyfriend, but she always was happy to go to a show with me. Sounds like you had a great trip to NYC.

Sounds like a great trip. I love the way so many of the stores decorate their buildings like the Fendi store you saw. So glad you had great weather!

Toucan - that is funny - I meant to tell about that Marriott - it is sort of a funny one. It is a good location but our room - which was a suite was like a inside cabin on a cruise - there was no outside window. I opened the curtain and it opened to the interior atrium area.

:-) I never liked having a room on the atrium side!

I'm putting together an itinerary for a February girls trip. I've never heard of Bryant Park but it looks like a great spot for my friends and I to spend a couple hours.
Also the Big Piano, will look that up.

I was a big cramper for my whole menustrating life, too. Headaches, nausea and vomiting, back ache. Bleh. I take it ibuprofen doesn't help her? It was a life-saver for me though it didn't become available otc until 1984. I hope she gets help from the doctor visit. There isn't any reason to suffer like that in this day of pharmaceutical wonders.

Bryant Park is lovely - crepes, hot wine, ~ I hope you enjoy it PDX - I am not sure you need a few hours but a lovely stroll through :)

No, OTC has not really helped my daughter.

Thank you Nikki - I will go and check it out as I am interested in what you thought of the Dead Sea Scrolls.I got my tickets from the desk at the hotel and they did not tell me there were combo tickets and at the admissions they were unwilling to switch mine to combo tickets and I was unwilling to pay for the admissions separately. It just bugged me.

The exhibit was HORRIBLE (CSI) and I can not think of a person it would be a good fit for.

I can totally relate to your feelings about having a husband that is often away for business. While the perks are nice, DH, lately, has feelings of guilt about missing so much. Friends and family seem jealous over the trips we take ( and I never really talk about them), but "we" gave up many, many a Sunday and Friday for his company. We try and enjoy what we can to the max because we know one day it will end!

Glad you enjoyed your trip. We generally stay away from the city during the holidays (unless we are visiting our son), but there is something magical about it. Your daughter, btw, is stunning...just like her mom. :)

STW - I do not talk about our trips but I do post them on FB and I know it creates feelings of
malcontent. We have given up a lot over the last 18 months and so if we get a few trips for free here and there I am VERY thankful but have mixed feelings. Regarding giving up many a Sunday/Friday. no kidding. My husband is working today - and leaves in the am for NY... in Feb? He will be gone almost 3 of the 4 weeks. I know the other side of unemployment so I do my best to encourage him - and with my dil and son living here now - with my grandbabies it makes it SO much easier...but it puts a huge strain on our relationship.

Anyhoo... I digress.

My DD was 13 the first time she visited NYC and instantly fell in love and decided she wanted to live there. Shes in her 4th year at FIT and already a NY state resident!
