The better time to visit Sedona & GC
Advance planning for 1 week in Oct/Nov 2011; choices are late Oct/early Nov 2011 or sometime between early-mid November. Some accomodations are quite discounted beginning mid-November, but weather wise, will I notice a big difference between late Oct/early Nov or mid Nov? Right now availability isn't a problem so I want to book in advance.

I was in Phoenix, Sedona and GC in October. I thought it was hot in Mississippi but I think it's hotter in AZ than MS. I really was too hot. The weather was nice but just hot. I would go in Mid to Late November plus you get the discount.

As with any mountain areas you are never sure of the weather. But we were at Sedona and GC for Thanksgiving one year. IT rained a lot but wasn't exceedingly cold. On the other hand was there over New Years and Sedona was lovely while GC was very snowy and cold. Ya picks a date and takes the chances!

my wife and I were in GC and Sedona in mid November last year. A jacket was required but not a parka. Like boom_boom said, Ya picks a date and takes the chances. Get your room reservations in GC as soon as possible if you are staying in the park. enjoy your trip, ziggypop
