The best thing at Quincy Market/Fanneul Hall is . . .
What? I've been there several times but we always seem to just find ourselves wandering aimlessly. I love the food (LOBSTER ROLLS), people watching, and the little kiosks of individuals selling their wares. However it seems a lot of the stores have become the basic shops you find at a mall.
Are there any really good shops (or restaurants) in the general area we should seek out and be sure not to miss?

Another vote here for Durgin Park. It is a family style restaurant with servers from the Boston area, and some come with "attitiude" which makes it even more fun.
Also the food is GOOD. Try the oysters on the half shell. My first experience there, while I was in High School, and the waitress would not take away my plate or give us a check until I finished ALL my food, lol.
Have a GREAT time.

Quincy Market is a nice place to people watch and maybe grab a bite to eat. Fanueil Hall is a wonderful historic building. I think they should be thought of as different entities even though they now have kiosks on the lower level of Fanueil Hall. Most places in Boston are places that I love to wander aimlessly. Stop when something appeals to you.

Thanks, I'm familiar w/the difference between Quincy Mkt and Fanueil Hall as I was actually born in Boston and have visited many times. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anyting in my wandering since I'm not really a native (well, technically I guess I am, but . . .).
Interesting so many recommendations for Durgan Park. I've been there several years/trips ago and everyone told me they are known for their prime rib. I'm not a huge prime rib fan but that's what I got since I heard it was "their thing." Sounds like there are some other things I should try as well!!
