The best Luau and the cost near the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel?

Has anyone recently gone to a really great Luau near this hotel that had some outstanding entertainment?

Hi!
Germaines or Royal Hawaiian are the only ones, I believe, near you? But, Paradise Cove Luau is great! The firedancer is amazing to watch!!! When you book this, there is transportation provided. It is on the Leeward side of the island. Past Pearl Harbor, I believe.
You can find a really good deal by going to www.barefoottours.com(could be www.barefoot.com)or www.anytimevacations.com. Anytimevacations has the best prices for the Royal Deluxe. It is $92.60 each.
This is the best by far! You get escorted in thru a special gate, avoiding the lines, a choice of kukui nut lei-these last a lifetime(great souvenir!)or flower lei, free photo, free mug each-these are really nice mugs, too! They are insulated!, free unlimited drinks!-you have to get your own before the show starts, but, once it starts, they serve you!, they also serve you dinner at your seat. You can either choose to sit right in front of the stage or in a VIP Box at the back, slightly elevated.
The food is really great! You get to watch them remove the pig from the pit(emu?). My husband was chosen out of the audience to try the food they were showing you that is served. He had a blast doing it! He even 'swiveled his hips' when he tasted the poi! That was so much fun! And I have it on tape!
That is your best bet. You are close to the restrooms & it is covered & more private. This is a really great deal, especially if you only do a luau once in your life. Great momentos to remember the evening by!
There are some neat things to do. They have a gift shop, of course, but they also have all this free stuff to do-you can make a lei-neck or wrist, you can get a temporary tattoo, a lot of other stuff, too! All they ask for is a donation. I tipped $1 per activity. All they ask is to be thought of.
Anyway, you leave at something like 3:30pm & are back to your hotel around 10pm. Great way to spend an evening!
Aloha!

Aloha Princess,

Don't miss the authentic hula you can see performed on the Kuhio Beach Hula Mound every night at sunset. It is wonderful and very well performed... almost magical with the tikis all lit and the sky turning blue and purple.

Kuhio Beach Park is across the street from the WBH, and if you walk west just a little you'll find the Hula Mound. ((R))

My daughter and son in law really enjoyed the Paradise Cove Luau. They liked that there were lots of things to do besides eating and a show. They made their own leis, learned to hula, watched demonstrations, etc.

For free, there are dance and music demonstrations (dancers were from the Polynesian Cultural Center) in the evenings at the stage of the Royal Hawaiian shopping center in Waikiki, same time & place where the guy runs down the main street and lights up all the torches after sunset.
