The Amazing Race Sept. 7th
I would love to go to New Zealand and try that water rapids trek they did last night. I can't believe most all of them did it. New Zealand has to be one of the most beautiful and diverse places in the South Pacific. Snow capped mountains and tropical beaches.
|
I'm not usually one to try wild adventure activities like that while traveling, but after watching last night's show, I'm all excited to try sledging and zorbing.
|
The Zorbing looked like SO much fun! I hope they stay in New Zealand for a while--such a beautiful country from what I've seen.
Colin and Christie are looking hard to beat...although it looks like we'll see another ridiculous outburst from Colin again next week. I love this show! |
I love the show and I am glad that this thread has not been deleted. I want to do the zorbing thing in Kiwi land. I've done it on inner tubes on a white water river in Texas. As for Colin and Christie I am a bit sick of the constant "The Lord" referances. Its a travel contest, not a life or death situation.
|
Sign us up for that trip too! Looked like so much fun! Do sludging and zorbing exist anywhere in the States or do we have too many lawyers to allow for such activities?
|
I was so excited to see last night's episode in New Zealand - especially since we traveled the same route to Rotorua and saw most of the sites shown on the show just a few years ago ourselves.
We saw the Zorb - after watching a kid sloshing around in it like a pinball - I decided no thanks. I didn't think the combination of my puke and the water inside the Zorb would have been appreciated. At first I thought the river they did the sledging on was the same one we did our whitewater rafting trip on, but it wasn't. We did the the Kaituna (or something like that) River - it had a 21 foot drop! The sledging looked awesome - I'd love to try it - but one thing - that river water is COLD! |
The white water sledging looked like so much fun. I'm not a good swimmer but I'd like to try it too. I think this race has been one of the best--so many fantastic places--the pyramids, Russia, New Zealand. WOW! I guess I'll just have to save up my money for a blockbuster vacation when I retire.
And, jor, it isn't Colin and Christie that are the religious ones, it's the models. I think their names are Nicki and, well I can't remember his name. I must be closer to retirement than I thought. |
It's Brandon & Nicole who are depending on "The Lord" to help them win the race, not Colin & Christie. If I were Brandon & Nicole, I'd be praying for Colin & Christie to mess up big time, cause they look unbeatable...hoping Colin's juvenile outbrust previewed for next week does them in...he's a pathetic person!
I'm now rooting for the Bowling Moms. |
I am still rooting for Kim and Chip and he needs to stop be so doggoned nice to his competitors, especially Colin & Christie. They need to get that "lead, follow or get out of the way" attitude to win. At the beginning of the show at the airport when they had to buy tickets, they just deferred to Colin and Christie (and it seems like they do this all the time) and allow them to get in front of them in line. They are great, grounded people which is why I am rooting for them, but they need to be a little more aggressive or assertive! Do love the show and was fantasizing while watching of being able to do both of those stunts last night!
|
I'm still rooting for Chip and Kim also. Just when I thought Colin had "grown" a bit..danged if they didn't show an outburst for next week.
MelissaHI...how has this managed not to get deleted...Now that I have posted it probably will! |
...And I thought I was the kiss of death for the AR thread, icee. Go Chip and Kim! Go Moms!
|
Colin should check in on our "how to pack lightly" thread....does that guy only have one shirt????
|
icee, betsy...I thought *I* was the kiss of death! long live this thread.
|
I had never heard of sledging and zorbing before -- it is done anywhere else?
|
Well how the heck has this thread survived for almost seven hours when the prior, similarly innocuous one, was pulled? Seemingly no rhyme or reason by those hard-working editors at HQ.
|
I too had a glimmer of hope last night that Colin had gotten in touch with his kinder side--from the previews it looks like it was only a momentary lapse. Last night "I love her more than anything in the world". Preview "I hate you so much". Hmmm
I'm still rooting for Chip and Kim; I think they now realize it's no more Mr. Nice Guy. I also like the moms, but their schrill voices are starting to grate on my nerves! It seems like the only time they show them they are screaming. Zorbing? No wonder I got a strange look today when I said that Zoobing looks fun. Personally I'm now dying (pardon the pun) to try sledging. I don't think even lawyers could spoil the fun. Everytime we've gone river rafting we've had to sign liability forms basically stating that even if it's their fault if we die they can't be sued! |
Cbbi, it's "sledging" ? I think "sludging" is what they were doing trying to find the clue in the hot mud.
Hey, it's 1am in NY, I bet we've got at least 7 more hours of life on this thread. :-D I WANT TO ZORB!! Can you do it anywhere besides NZ? |
I taped Wed. night's episode...I'm with all of you, zorbing and sledging look like a blast. I've always wanted to got to NZ, now I have two more reasons--other than the obvious ones. I wish they showed South Island, like Franz Josef Glacier and down that way, but maybe next season!
Go Moms and Chip and Kim. Don't you wish Colin would just sprain his ankle or something, so they couldn't continue? (I'd wish him worse but...) I want him out of there but guess these shows always have to have someone they want us to hate. |
Are the episodes rebroadcast on another channel or at another time, does anyone know?
|
Cassandra:
CBS usually repeats the Tuesday episode on Sat at 8pm the same week. I don't think the earlier episodes are repeated though. Katie |
