Thanksgiving Trip

Looking for cool Thanksgiving trip. Something in New England would be great, basically drivable from NYC. Airfares are pretty insane, although if you know something I don't like fly at midnight or flights to Billings Montana are cheap, please share. So I'm anxious to hear your ideas. Oh I have a 12year old too.. that always makes trip planning a joy if you know what I mean.

If you enjoy winter weather, try highway traveling to New Hampshire. Lots of cool places, mountains, great skiing..central NH is one hour from Boston, Vermont, NH mountains,NH seacoast, Maine seacoast, etc. Many packages are available. A 12 year old would enjoy it too.

Any resorts you can recommend in New Hampshire or Vermont? Other than Smugglers Notch.

vabarone,
What types of things do you and your 12 year od (boy or girl?) like to do? Jackson is pretty quiet. Most of the resorts in New England focus around skiing, but they do have off-season activities also, like hiking and horseback riding. Most places probably will not have sking yet at Thanksgiving.
