Thanksgiving dinner in NYC
Where is a great place to go to Thanksgiving
brunch or dinner in New York City with a 7 and 11 year old? We would like delicious food and a festive atmosphere.

John: My husband and I have spent several Thanksgiving holidays in New York. You and your family will love seeing the parade in person, but make sure you get there early to have a good view. As for the meal, your best choice on that special day would be one of the hotels. We ate at the Mariott Marquis and it was pretty good. Also try to get reservations for lunch another day at Tavern on the Green. The price is great and the lunch is very good, much better than dinner there. Have a great trip.

Tavern on the Green is not for everyone; I've heard not go great things about the food latey but the atmosphere is great. If you're willing to go out of the way a little, Alison on Dominick Street serves a great Thankgiving dinner. You might also check zagat.com and do a detailed search - click "special menus" and "holiday meals" to get a full list!

Thanksgiving in NYC is wonderful, enjoy!

Marlena

We did T'giving in New York three years ago and ended up eating Italian food because we couldn't find any place with seating for the traditional meal. We still had a great time. (We were at the parade the year the wind blew the balloons all over h**l and back.)

You could also try Ye Waverly Inn, in the West Village. A fireplace in every dining room, cozy and attitude free.
