Thanksgiving Dinner

My wife and I are travelling to Pittsburgh for Thanksgiving weekend.

Any recommendations for restaurants that serve Thanksgiving dinner?

Anywhere downtown is fine, we are staying near the robinson mall area. Would just like some names of good restaurants that will be serving Thanksgiving dinner.

THanks

I'd be willing to bet that The Grand Concourse is serving Thanksgiving Dinner. The Grand Concourse is an old train station converted into an oppulent restaurant. It is located in Station Square, just across the river from Downtown. That would be a wonderful place to spend Thankgiving. I'll let you know more as Thanksgiving approaches.

Although it wouldn't be a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, Buca de Beppo would be a great choice with family style dining. There's one in Station Square and another one in Robinson. Have fun and make sure you get a Primanti sammich.

The Grand Concourse would be a nice choice-- cool room! As I recall (it's been a couple of years), the food was good too.

Buca di Beppo would be an offbeat choice, and I would think that they'd be far better in Pittsburgh (PA's capital for Noodles & Red Sauce Italian) than here in Santa Monica (the BdB here serves easily the worst food I've ever eaten at a sit-down restaurant in the western US).

Buca di Beppo? How about this instead. See if the hotel will lend you a can opener, go to the store and buy a dozen cans of Chef Boy Ar Dee, and pour them into a big trough. Gather around and dig in. About the same, but will be cheaper.

earl30: I was trying to give BdB the benefit of the doubt, but.... Oh well.

How about a nice place on top of Mt. Washington? I have fond memories of Le Mont, for example. Great views of downtown! I would think they would have a Thanksgiving special event... wouldn't they?

Fodor's restaurant section jogged my memory about one fantastic eatery in Mt. Lebanon: The Colony. Truly a great place: classy, tasteful, wonderful food. My sister had her engagement celebration dinner here (many, many years ago), and it was off-the-chart great then; looking at Fodor's comments, it's stayed great. I'd check there.
