Just want to say that the illuminating of the Empire State Building in purple and gold yesterday to mark the jubilee of Elizabeth II was appreciated on the other side of the Atlantic. Thank you!

So that explains it. Unfortunately purple and gold are also the colors of the Los Angeles Lakers. I thought NY was playing a cruel joke on NJ and Nets fans.

That is so funny! To be honest, I don't think anyone in Britain had a clue that purple and gold were the "official" jubilee colors until last weekend. Sorry, Nets fans.
