Texas scenic roads
 

Looking for less traveled, scenic road for a leisurely drive to West Texas, North.
Also North East Texas.

Sorry, I totally do not understand your question. Where are you driving from?

Are you talking about the panhandle, someplace between Childress and Texarkana or between San Angelo and El Paso?
For south-west Texas it's hard to beat the Big Bend area.
My favorite little town steakhouse in Texas is Lowake a few miles east of San Angelo.

How many hour drive do you want? Texas is huge, so you could spend an entire day through boring,flat,straight, hot Texas just getting to a place where can then take a 2hr scenic drive.

What time of year?

Are you limited to paved roads, or are you ok with dirt roads, including possible low water river crossings?

There are many part of the TX hill country west of Texas that I like. West of Austin, out towards Fredricksburg that make for a nice day trip from Austin.
