TEXAS - Arlington restaurants?
 

Hello,
I will be in Arlington TX in a few weeks. Any nice restaurant suggestions?

I was just in Fort Worth last week, and have been to Billy Bob's, the Stockyards, Del Frisco's, Texas de Brazil & BBQ. (Loved it all!)

I will be working at a trade show every day, and so looking for places not too far from the Wyndham Hotel/Convention Center. One night we could go a bit farther, but not every night.

I would make the short trek to the Railhead in Colleyville or Ft Worth. Really good BBQ.

Arlington has almost every major chain restaurant within 5 minutes' drive of the Wyndham Hotel and the Arlington Convention Center. I know there are Pappadeaux cajun/seafood, On The Border, Macaroni Grill, Cheddar's, Humperdink's (good sports bar), Cracker Barrel and and an Owen's (good breakfast).

Do you like Mexican food? If so, head to Joe T. Garcia's on the north side of Fort Worth and eat outside. Definitely head to Railhead in Fort Worth located right of off I-30 on the west side. Sorry to tell you this - but Arlington is primarily chain restaurants. There's an upscale restaurant in Arlington called Cacharel located just north of I-30 near where you'll be that's not a chain. Does this help?

OK, for non-chain restaurants, the Railhead BBQ is very, very good!

I've heard that Boi na Braza (another Brazilian steakhouse) is better than Texas de Brazil, but I haven't been to both so I can't compare. BnB is on 121 in Colleyville, just across from the Railhead.

There is also a large Asian and Middle Eastern population in Arlington, and the ethnic restaurants there are very good. There are lots of them on Pioneer and Arkansas roads. One of my favorite Asian places is Arc en Ciel. :-)

I absolutely love La Madeline, which is a French bistro. It is a chain but it still has a wonderful atmosphere and great food. Think: fireplaces, creamy tomato soup, good coffee, and strawberries with rum cream topping. I now live outside of Arlington and everytime I go back, I ALWAYS make it to La Mad. Excellent bakery too. Locations all over the metroplex. Don't let the 'chain' bit scare you off.
