I found that website just a few minutes ago. I'm going to have to sand surf, of course. Does anyone know the cost? I can't find it anywhere on the page.

There is a nice art museum in Roswell that also has Am. Indian stuff. The Alien museum is also there. A stop at La Fonda in Artesia is about the best mexican food experience you can have with clothes on

Since it is a State Park, the day use entry fee will be nominal, usually under $10. Or, the TPWD site has information upcoming Camel Trekking workshops that will be held there, too!!

Is La Fonda off the highway? Are the prices decent?

Does anyone have any restaurant suggestions for Plano or Abilene?

Artesia is a small town about halfway between Roswell and Carlsbad. Most everything is on Hwy. 285 through town. I haven't eaten at La Fonda, but I'm sure it won't be hard to find.

There is little of anything in Artesia but I found a link to a place to stay which is near La Fonda and I think there is a map on the web site.

If you're a fan of Mexican food, La Fonda has been around for at least 50 years and is one of the best restaurants for mexican in southern New Mexico. It is reasonably priced Mexican so I'd bet nothing is even $10/entre. I've tried to find a link to La Fonda but have failed.
