Terrorist attack in NYC?

Still too early to know details but there are at least 6 dead and 15 injured when a rented van was driven down the bike path next to the west side highway mowing down bicyclists, pedestrians and random people. He hit a bus and another vehicle, then ran waving what appeared to be firearms until he was shot and captured by police. His injuries are reported to be minor. Three nearby schools (an elementary school, Stuyvesant High and a community college) were put on lock down but it appears there were no injuries to students, family or staff.

Police, FBI, Mayor and Governor are on the scene but the incident is still being investigated.

I'm more inclined to say nut than organized terror. So scary either way. This is literally one of my nightmares. I feel so safe in a car free zone but of course it's an illusion given that the only thing usually stopping vehicles from entering it is the belief that drivers are law abiding.
