Cookie, what alleys was your friend hanging out in during her SA visit? And after how many margaritas?
Just teasing - not sure where she got this, but as long as I have been here this has bever been a problem. |
I have been to Galveston at least ten times and love it. The seafood (esp. shrimp and oysters) is outstanding; we like to eat at Lecroy's and Luigi's on the Strand, the Stingaree in Crystal Beach (take the ferry)or have cajun flounder at Benno's on the Seawall. Go to the Phoenix Coffee House for beignets or pastries and excellent java. (just off of the Strand) The Moody Mansion and Bishop's Palace home tours are excellent. The Great Storm museum documents the largest hurricane death toll ever in the U.S. (1900 Galveston) Shopping on the Strand. Beachcombing. Dolphin watching. Birdwatching. You could easily fill 2 or 3 days in Galveston. NASA and Houston Rodeo are nearby and worthwhile.
