temperatures in fall

I would like to know what temperatures to expect during fall foliage times on the east coast...late Sept till mid October. Thanks

Very variable, depending on weather fronts, latitude, altitude, and distance from ocean. 60 - 80 in day, 40-60 at night.

What part of the East Coast? The temperature at any given time on any given day can vary by 20-30 degrees, depending where you are.

The temperatures can vary 20-30 degrees from one day to the next, too.

Given that range of dates, it is best to just be prepared for the possible extremes -- unseasonably warm, shorter days approaching 80+ with comfortably mild evenings and nights; blustery, wet days that chill to the bone with touches of frost at night. In other words - take an umbrella, warm clothes, overcoat, light jacket, sunglasses, scarf, polo shirts, flannel shirts, -- the whole range of comfortable clothes.

Anything from snow to 80 degrees. Definite fleece weather.
