Tell me something good about Homestead Studio Suites

DH and I are moving. The van came and took all of our furniture today. I went on Priceline and "won" Homestead for $35. At first, I was excited then realized I had Homestead and Homewood Suites mixed up. Homewood is Marriott.

Just now I went to Tripadvisor. There were 6 reviews, all bad. One review said they wouldn't recommend this hotel to a prostitute.

In the Lounge there's a couple of threads about staying with dirty relatives. I'm really not looking forward to tonight.

Um, are you going to tell us where this place is -- at least a state it's in -- or just let us guess?

It's in Kansas City. But, I meant as a chain, has anyone stayed at one?

We stayed several nights in a Homestead Suites in Bellevue, WA. It was a basic room with a kitchenette. The appliances all worked and the room was clean. Maid service was once a week or upon request. It worked out pretty well for us.

Ok, there was nothing wrong with this place. I don't know why Trip Advisor had such negative reviews. The room was clean. The staff was not very friendly though. I think I'll go on Trip Advisor and give a good review.

The only thing wrong with it was the color scheme, red and yellow.

The curtains were red and yellow plaid!

Hmmm. Red and yellow plaid? Sounds fun. And a nice one night change from the usual commercial beige on beige with beige accents color scheme.

I think often people review budget chains on TripAdvisor as if they normally stay at the the Four Seasons, and they unnecessarily trash places simply because they ARE budget.

Which one in KC there is one in Merriam that is quite nice and Homewood is a Hilton brand if that matters.
