Teenagers-group trip to Honolulu--how much to allow per day for food??

It has been years since I was there..and I remember even then it was expensive. I doubt if the kids will be eating in any "upscale" restaurants
so what do you think???

You can get by for under $15 a day.

Lots of cheap buffets.

Local plate lunches are inexpensive.

Ala Moana Shopping Center has a great food court.

Lots of Oahu info:

All of these have good restaurant sections:

www.honoluluadvertiser.com

Get a copy of 'Oahu Revealed'. It has lots of good info including a dining section.

Waikiki does not have to be expensive, if you use the grocery stores, ABC Stores, fast food, picnics, etc.

Breakfast from bakery or $2.99 special at restaurant ($5)

Lunch from ABC Store includes sandwich or salad plus chips, fruit, beverage ($5)

Dinner say something like a "plate lunch", hamburger, shrimp shack, etc. ($12)

So I'll go with $25 per day per person.
