Teacher Discounts in New York City

I am planning a trip to NYC in December. What are some ways that I can get teacher discounts on Broadway/Radio City/sightseeing?

You can join tdf (theater development fund) for $25 annual fee but I don't know whether it will be worth your while for just a 1 time visit. If you come frequently, it may be worth it. Here's info
http://tdf.org/mailinglist/index.html

Otherwise you can look for theater discounts on broadwaybox.com closer to your trip. Here's another page with every imaginable way to get theater discounts

I'm not aware of any discounts for sightseeing but there may well be some.

I'm curious, what is a "teacher discount"? Are you bringing a group of school children to NYC?

A teacher discount simply means a discount for educators. Yes, many teachers who bring groups of students to NYC or many, many other places receive discounts on packages...partly because of the large group, partly because students typically cannot afford cultural activities without a discount, and partly just because many organizations in the United States offer discounts to government/military/and even teachers. Teachers can often receive similar discounts for personal trips as well. Please post if you know of any good programs. Thanks!

My sister is a teacher in NY and says she's rarely seen such a discount here for personal use for museums, etc. She's had better luck in Europe! The one place she knows has a discount is South Street Seaport--but it's for members of her Union, not teachers in general
Some chain stores (Barnes and Noble, Borders) have a discount for K-12 teachers.
