he's prolly telling them to stay away from Dupont Circle cause once you get over there you never find your way out again.(and he''s lose half his attendees). We once stayed at a nice reasonable hotel there, very nice area..but you need a taxi to find your address again.

"What bothers me the most is the line about "taking back our country"."
I know another couple that attended an earlier DC tea party rally. I saw the signs they carried with the same sentiments: "It's MY country! Give it back or I'll take it back!"
I was brave enough to ask them (knowing the animosity it would create) bardo1's question: "From WHO? The majority of voters that voted for Obama?"
I asked why we should "give" it back, after all, "we" had just WON an election (popular and Electoral votes). It happens every 4 years, its a Constitutional requirement.
I was also curious as to the aggressive nature of their statements ("...or I'll TAKE it back"). They had just had things "their" way for the past 8 years, things sucked because of it and it was time to try something a little different, no?
I immediately became the biggest troop-hating, terrorist-supporting, commie bastard in their minds. Nothing like tolerant, open minds.

yeah, I heardthe same thing on a radio channel tonite:
"you're either a capitalist or a communist"
rethuglicans trying to revive the boogeman of communism...20 years after its collapse.. they dont want to turn the country back to 1980, what they want isn't even 1950, they're after the good old days when labor was cheap and the peasants knew their place: pre 1920 when there were no taxes for the ultra rich either.
Meanwhile, the peasants are the ones fronting the rich at the "tea parties" against their own interests " we want our country back".
splain that.

These people are bigoted, selfish, ignorant, unconstitutional loons. I have to go to DC this weekend. I'm not happy about having an invasion of them, but at least I know where to go to avoid them.
