Taxis in Orlando?

My husband and I are staying at the World Center Marriott during the last weekend in February. We don't plan on renting a car. We're planning to see Epcot and Disney Downtown, and perhaps a couple of the shopping malls. How much would the approximate taxi fares be? I realize that prices may be steep but we'd rather not have to get a car. Thanks.

It is only about 10 miles from the WC Marriott to Milennia Mall. My guess on taxi fare one way would be $8-13 USD. The Florida Mall is about the same distance.

From the Marriott to Disney plan to pay at least $30 for a one way taxi fare. On our last trip to Orlando we opted to use a taxi versus renting a car and we wished that we would have rented the car.

On the thread of taxis, does anyone know how much a taxi costs from the airpot to Disney? We are staying at the Buena Vista Palance, right next to Downtown Disney. Also I am travelling with my 3 yr old, is it safe enough to be in the taxi without a carseat? We had planned on not bringing one down with us. If not, what are other options?

Thanks,
Jacki

If you can walk to Downtown Disney from your hotel, I believe you can take a bus to the parks.

I had read in the unofficial guide that this hotel was actually not part of the Disney bus service. There is a separate bus service (Mears?) for these hotels, but I have read about the bus taking a while, being slow and picking up other travellers. Also the reason I ask about taxis is that we will be arriving at Orlando at about 8:30 pm. I want to get to the hotel asap, especially with a 3 yr old with me. I wonder how long the taxi takes, where can you pick one up, how much does it cost (this is partially a business trip, so I'm hoping my company will pick up the cost)

Thanks,
Jacki
