Taos and surrounding areas - Help me plan!
 

We're driving to Taos, NM from Dallas in June and are flexible regarding the number of days we can stay. What all can we do in Taos and surrounding areas? We are looking for respite from Texas heat and want a relaxing no rush break from every day life. Any National Parks nearby that you have visited? We plan to visit the Sand Dune National Park in Colorado during our stay. We're trying to avoid crowded places and mostly do outdoors. We might also drive up to Colorado and spend a few days. We planned without much research, so appreciate any suggestions you have to share.
