Tannersville/Hunter Mt., NY area question

Our daughter is getting married Labor Day weekend, 2003, at the Lutheran Latvian Camp in Tannersville, NY. Any recommendations for lodging for a large number of guests that will be from out of town..there doesn't seem to be any large hotels - just alot of expensive B&B's, that want at least 2 nites reservations because of it being a holiday weekend.
Any ideas welcome!

Since Hunter Mt. is a ski resort, I would do a search on bestwestern.com, Marriott.com Ramada.com etc... to see what hotels are in the area.

About 15 miles away....

Try the motel 6 right off Exit 20 of the NYS Thruway. I think that this is Saugerties, NY.

Dont stay at the train house! Its a house in tannersville which is rented out for large groups. The Train House in Tannersville, New York rented by owner John Denato was a disgrace. The two houses were in horrible condition, full of bugs, mold and dirty. They were unlivable. The description raves about how wonderful they are but upon arrival our entire group was grossed out by the conditions. Luckily we only rented the house for the weekend, I would have moved to the motel if I were to stay there a week. The rooms were cramped and old, they were dusted, dirty and horrible. The kitchen was out of date, and also very grimy. There were no cell phone reception anywhere on the property, and the house even though it was listed did not have a land line phone. God forbid something happened we would have not been able to call for help. All around the stay there was despicable, and dealing with the owner was even worse. After we left we waited a full month for the deposit back, when the website clearly says it should take only a week. Then we were charged more for stuff we didn't even do! I would not recommend the train house to anybody! Save your money! It was overpriced and disgusting. We were charged 700$ for the use of firewood that was supplied on the deck, if that's not a rip off then I don't know what is.
