Tampa Restaurant

I'll be flying into Tampa this Sunday and I'd love to know of a great restaurant to eat lunch when I get in. I'd love a neat place on the bay overlooking the water, possibly with seating outside?

I may be wrong but the only place that has outdoor seating that overlooks the bay would be Rattlefish. I don't think Oystercatchers or Armani's (high-end cuisine also pricier) have outdoor seating, except for drinks, and I think Armani's is only open for dinner. There is another place that has a Sunday buffet in Rocky Point on the Clearwater Causeway -- when I remember the name I'll let you know.

On Harbor Island there's a Sunday brunch spot that overlooks downtown and has outdoor seating and is on the water. Can't remember the name of that one either.

Someone -- help!

Not on the bay, not overlooking the water, don't know if it is even open for lunch but I like to go to the Columbia Club in Ybor City when in Tampa. Ybor City is the old historic Cuban area of town and the restaurant is very old. Neat to eat Cuban dishes since I don't find those in the Indy area.

The Columbia restaurant in St. Pete is on the end of the pier that juts into Tampa Bay. Great views but the Cuban food here is not quite as good as the other Columbia restaurants.

On the Courtney Campbell Causeway there is The Castaway....it meets your criteria. Also the Rusty Pelican. I have not eaten at either lately so I can not comment on the food. Places like this are best experienced with ordering something simple or their house specialty (probably fried grouper). LMF
