Tales of the Cocktail
Hello,
I received this flyer in the mail about a "five-day dining and drinking experience that explores the history and spirit of the cocktail with best-selling authors, award-winning chefs, mixologists and celebrities in New Orleans". Details at www.TalesoftheCocktail.com It's July 19th-23rd with activities such as the Southern Comfort Cocktail Tour each evening in the French Quarter, party at House of Blues, events at Hotel Monteleone and various restaurants. Looks like fun! Prices to most events are $20-$25 and some are even FREE. |
For a minute there I thought someone was talking about my weekend in Murrells Inlet.
|
GoT, well, don't be shy. We'd love to hear all about your weekend in Murrells Inlet!
|
LOL, GoT
|
It involved fishing and lots of beer after my long run Saturday morning.
Technically it was a long run but not really. |
Thanks, Uptowngirl! My dd is an uptown NO girl, too. Were you there before they "officially" let folks back in that area? We were, and I must admit I LOVED IT. It was like stepping back in time to the N.O. of old. I could almost see horse and carriages going up and down St. Charles. :)
That link didn't work, strange--must be the caps. Try this one: http://www.talesofthecocktail.com/ Thanks for the great info! |
Hi BayouGal,
Thanks for fixing the link. Yes, we were back and those early days were very strange. Uptown and Magazine St came back to life much quicker than the French Quarter. I loved the Block Party atmosphere everytime a restaurant reopened. Sometimes we would see 40 fireman from several states eating at Magazine Po-Boy Shop. There are so many stories. |
