Taking teens to the beach

We are taking 8 teenagers (17-18 year olds) to WDW and want to do a day or two trip to the beach. Any suggestions on which beach would be best for this age group? We were thinking Daytona or Clearwater. This is a celebrating of done with high school! Thank you!

The Clearwater beaches would be my choice... Gulf side, white sand, and lots to do for that age group... have fun

The closest (to WDW) beaches would be Cocoa Beach, Melbourne Beach and Indialantic. Either take SR 528 (AKA The Beachline) or US 192 East to the ocean (A1A).

I personally do not care for Daytona Beach because it is hard-packed sand and cars are permitted to drive on it. For me, it is hard to relax while trying to dodge moving vehicles. Ditto for New Smyrna Beach just a little south of there.

Thank you! We are also now looking at Fort Lauderdale, is this a good place to take teens??

I don't see the need to go all the way down to Fort Lauderdale. Its a bit of a drive from Orlando, so if you just want a beach, there are closer options, like Cocoa Beach.

I agree!
