Noah -
By posting blatantly political messages on this forum, you open yourself up to being discredited. Get used to it if you want to continue this type of post.

Concerning content. Do you have proof of your claims? Have you witnessed this sweat shop labor yourself or can you cite a credible source for this information?
Disney has proved itself to be a very progressive company in many other areas. For example they were one of the first to provide domestic partner benefits to enmployees.
Concerning low paid labor in foreign countries, without large companies like Disney providing jobs in developing markets, just who exactly do you expect to provide employment in these areas at any wage? Will theybe better of without these jobs?

I for one do not find Disneys theme park brand of entertainment appealing. But I certainly wouldnt boycott them based on your unsubstantiated claims on a travel oriented website. (Or the southern Baptists ramblings for that matter.)

No where does it say that this Forum is for "moral issues of travel." Give me a break! This forum is for legitimate travel questions on destinations and for people who have traveled to share their stories. Noah, where have you and AMS traveled to lately that you want to share your stories??? Or do you have some information on a particular destination? I thought not! Noah and AMS , you are pathetic, lonely men who have nothing better to do but to push your own agendas. No one cares one iota about your moral issues. I would like to know where your family is? Do you even have one? And if you both do, why aren't they monitoring you? It's quite obvious you both either are mentally unbalanced or are in the early stages of Alzheimer's. If you aren't, then go annoy another board.

Sybill Apr 14th, 2000 12:34 PM

I think it's obvious AMS and Noah are one in the same. Does the movie, "Sybill" ring a bell.

Missy Apr 14th, 2000 01:02 PM

Amen, getagrip - Noah and AMS (one and the same, or not)- NEVER answer/post LEGIT travel questions - they just go on and on and on and ON about the harzards of Disney or other FL places. Noah and AMS, if you two want to argue about and give your opinions on certain places, go to a chat room, where people are more than willing to debate with you. This site is for people who want answers to their questions and enjoy helping other fellow travelers by answering them

AMS Apr 14th, 2000 03:19 PM

To Noah:
All the above diversionary comments come from people using false pseud-names and aliases. I suspect many of them are using multiple aliases since there cannot be that many crazies in the world. Fodors must require commentors to use legitimate e-mail addresses or to register if there is ever going to be any intelligent commentary on this forum.

I think it just might be a good idea to inform the Frommers Travel Site of whats going on Fodors. It would certainly make for an interesting editorial.

Were you to send a message to my email, you will find that I am completely legitimate. I have nothing to hide nor am I afraid to express myself openly.

NowIGetIt Apr 14th, 2000 03:36 PM

Now I get it, AMS works for Frommer's!

IWonder Apr 14th, 2000 03:53 PM

Ever wonder why AMS and Noah appear at different times of the day? Could be they are one and the same person. And maybe we use fake names on this board because we don't want nut cases like you AMS/Noah to clutter our email boxes.

Cur Apr 14th, 2000 04:08 PM

Hey: Good news! If global warming continues, Disney and Florida will soon find new life as prime scuba diving sites!
I can hardly wait!

AMS Apr 14th, 2000 06:35 PM

To ilisa, 4 messages up:
You are the only person on this thread thats uses a legitimate e-mail address other than myself. Now, have I or Noah cluttered your e-mail box with unwanted messages? Of course not. I respect your privacy as I expect others to respect my own.

Cur Apr 14th, 2000 07:49 PM

Dear Amsy Pansy:
The reason some of us don't use our real email addresses is because we don't want to allow travel agents/planners to find us. I once angered a travel agent, and she booked me into several slummy midwestern hotels. Luckily I could prove to my credit card company (the agent misused my credit card number and expiration date) that I had already been booked into several hotels far from the scene of the crime. I am glad to report that this particular agent finally overdid it and went ot jail for her misdeeds (for an even worse act of revenge, that turned out to be a felony).

I post on this board because I love to travel and I find this board useful in finding info. on sightseeing, lodging, dining, etc. I have posted advice/suggestions to others who have asked it in the hope of making their travels more enjoyable.

I ask you gentlemen, what in the world does this thread and your Florida is Unsafe Thread have to do with posting information pretaining to lodging, sightseeing, dining, and shopping? This board was meant for people who travel like myself. Do you even travel?? When was the last time either of you was on a real trip??

Your threads are DEBATES gentlemen and have no place on a forum where travelers are seeking information! There are debate boards out there for this type of exchange. I am sure you could find where you can debate corruption, politics and your moral agendas all you want. Your "debates" clutter up what was once a good forum for people like myself who love to travel. Please, let those of us who love to travel have our board back.

AMS Apr 15th, 2000 11:50 AM

To Maxine, the message above:
This thread is only one of out of 50 threads to choose from in the first column page. Furthemore, there appears to be numerous pages comprising of 50 threads each to choose from. So if you do not like this thread you have at least another 499 threads to select from. I don't see a problem with that.

Sorry that this thread, "Taking Disney to Task" is above your head but I agree with Noah, the original topic is extremely relevant to travel. Other travel web sites, such as Frommers, concentrate on these type of issues as well as provide the type of travel information you are seeking.

Maxine Apr 16th, 2000 06:35 AM

I really don't care what Frommer's has on their site AMS. I came to this site because it did not DEBATE topics. This thread takes up space on this Forum and it slows down loading time. As I said above, if you want to debate go to a debate board or post on Frommer's where they welcome debate.

It's time for this this thread and your Florida is Unsafe Thread to be put to bed. You have more than made your points in these threads. The responses you are getting are way off the thread anyway. Let's be gracious AMS and move on to another topic. Thank you.

Give Apr 17th, 2000 09:41 AM

Dear Noah and AMS,

Your rantings on here are obviously just a sad way for you to get attention from others. My guess is that you have alienated yourself from any family and friends by carrying on in this way, and that is why you have resorted to a public forum in order to get anyone to hear you. Note that I said "hear" you, not "listen" to you. Continue with your postings if it truly offers some semblance of social interaction to you, but please realize that 99% of the people on this forum think that you are ridiculous and just plain stupid. I feel sorry for you and hope that you will give your ramblings a rest and find something productive to do with your time.

I am also not entirely sure that you are not just toying with us all, because I can't believe there is actually anyone out there as ignorant as you make yourself out to be.

Noah Apr 17th, 2000 12:26 PM

Dear 'Give',

You write as if AMS and I are one and the same. As I have said before, this simply is not true. I do not AMS and I do not agree with everything he has said. Simply because I agree with him about Disney, people think we are the same person. How silly.

Noah Apr 17th, 2000 12:35 PM

Oh, yes, by the way...

Look who is calling me 'ignorant'. Obviously you find it easier to attack and try to discredit me than to confront the uncomfortable truth I have pointed-out. I posted a list of url's which talk about the fascist, exploitave practices of the Disney corporation.

Attack the messenger because you don't like the message. How original and noble.

Go, by all means, go to Disney, live it up, have the time of your life...Just think of the Disney employees in other countries who, after working an 18 hr. day for pennies come home to a run-down, vermin-infested shack without indoor plumbing and don't even have enough to eat.
Noah Apr 17th, 2000 12:38 PM

An additional reason not to go to Disney is to not be with people like you!

Give Apr 18th, 2000 08:00 AM

Oh Noah, you really are entertaining. And as long as I know that you won't be there, I will always visit Disney. Take your crusade elsewhere. I am finished with this subject, and hope you are too.

Nope, not done!
