A quick update -- was just watching the local NBC affiliate's 5PM news -- and they had the first "Hot August Nights" traffic remote (on July 30 which is a first that I can remember). Not the usual schmoe on the side of the freeway but their chopper pilot. So like I said, HAN is a big deal traffic-wise (though I DO think Thursday night is really jumping the gun - must be a sloooow news night :) )

He mentioned that the big push probably won't start until tomorrow since so far he'd only seen a couple of '56 Chevy's in the mix . . . .
