Tahoe in June - Help!

I'm looking for help with accommodations in Tahoe in early June. Is Incline Village nicer than Tahoe City? We're looking to spa and golf, don't care about gambling. Is CA or NV nicer? My wife and I are vacationing with in-laws (It's ok, they're cool). I'd love to find a 2-3 bedroom condo-type place without that cheesy condo furniture/look. Need a decent kitchen. Any help would be most appreciated!

the whole north end of the Lake is laid back and nice. Tahoe City is OK - but so is Incline. More golf at Incline.

Look at Club Tahoe - it is a condo resort at Incline with moderate prices - it is not on the water but is very convenient to shopping, the lake, Sand Harbor, and also to Kings Beach and on around to California. You may find the decor that "cheesy condo furniture/look" - but even POSH condos at the lake have basic furniture since they are also ski resorts so the decor has to be pretty sturdy.

We've lived and vacationed in the Tahoe areamy whole life (48yrs). My favorite spo is Zepher Cove just over The Nevada / California stateline in Nev. It's a beautiful little cove with a great beach, lots of activity, and only 5 minutes from the nightlife and restaurants. You can rent rustic cabins rigth there from Zepher Cove Resorts (www.tahoedixie2.com. I'll be there too mid-june for a family reunion). There are also private cabns for rent next door at the Zepher Point center (no booze) 775-588-6759.

We stay at the Lake every summer and have used the following to locate a property: http://www.enjoytahoe.com/
Of Incline or Tahoe City, I'd choose Incline. Tahoe City gets annoying congested as there is only the one road to restaurants, grocery and shops. Zypher Cove is on the south side of the lake. There is a marina there with lots of things to do.

Myself, I choose the west side of the lake, south of Sunnyside but not quite to Emerald Bay. Places like Homewood, Tahoma, Meeks Bay and Rubicon. Very nice and uncrowded lots of hiking, and nice beaches. The lake is not at all crowded in June as vacationers start arriving for the 4th of July and things really build to the end of July and into August.

The California side is definitely nicer. Incline village is also very nice, even though it is on the Nevada side. If you prefer more of the hustle and bustle of gambling, stay at south shore (ie:Harrah's, Harvey's Caesars). If you prefer more peace and quiet, you are better off at north shore (Cal-Neva or Hyatt Regency Resort) I highly recommend driving up 89 from south shore on the California side. You get a great view of Emerald Bay. If you have time, take a boat tour.
