Tahoe Hiking for bad Knees

Well I have bad knees but I still want to go on some hikes while we are in Tahoe for 5 days.
Any that aren't too hilly or are just all the way flat.
Any hilly ones that aren't that long.
I could do a couple that aren't flat if they just weren't too long.
Any suggestions?
We are leaving next Wednesday to go. WOO HOO!!

Have you tried hiking poles?

I have one bad(ish) knee, and when hiking hilly or unstable trails, I use a hiking pole (just don't want BOTH hands full), and it makes a lot of diffence.

I agree-hiking poles can really help. You need to use both if you really want to protect your knees.

I'm an old geezer w/bad knees & still can do the hike [more like a walk] to Angora Lakes near Fallen Leaf Lake. Nice lodge at the lake where you can enjoy the great scenery. Rent a row boat or watch the kids jumping off the granite cliffs on the other side of the small beach area. Sandwiches & drinks available at the lodge or bring your own.

Gosh, I never even thought about hiking poles. If it relieves the stress on my knees, that would be great. I love to hike and ever since my knees have gotten bad I have been afraid to do anything too steep or rocky. Thanks for the tip!
