Tahoe-area suggestions

Hi,
Wife and some friends are staying at the Squaw Valley lodge next Monday thru Friday. Besides skiing, any other MUST do's? MUST eat's? We are up for nice nightlife, good food and have car. Gambling faves? Any suggestions from the forum about 4 days in Tahoe would be nice

Squaw Valley is in California--no gambling.

We have stayed at the Squaw Valley Lodge and liked it. There's a geat sushi place by the fire pit in the Squaw village.

We like the Mexican food at La Hacienda in Tahoe City--the mango margaritas are my favorite.

There's also a good, cheap burger joint in Tahoe City--the concierge at the Lodge recommended it.

You'll have to drive to the South Shore to get to the casinos. If traffic isn't too bad, I think it's around 35 minutes -- this will feel much more active than the North Shore.

You definitely don't have to drive all the way to southshore to gamble. And if it is as stormy as tonight you couldn't anyway since hwy 89 around Emerald Bay would be closed. Though conditions will likely be much better next week.

The Hyatt Tahoe in Incline Village has a very nice nice casino and also a really good restaurant. And there are 4 smaller casinos at Crystal Bay - including the CalNeva (which was once owned by Frank Sinatra and you can visit the secret tunnels Frank, Marilyn, the Kennedy brothers and the rest of the Rat Pack used to get from their suites to the showroom w/o being noticed).
