Tahiti Nui - Kauai

Does anyone know if the restaurant/bar Tahiti Nui is still open in Hanalei? It isn't in the latest edition of the Ultimate Guidebook. My wife and I went there on our honeymoon about 4 years ago and thought it was great and are returning to Kauai this summer. Thanks for any help.

Hi Jeff! The restaurant/bar was open the last time we were there. We are going over in a few days. I'll check it out. The place is such an institution, I can't imagine it closing down. But the Roadrunner, now that's another story. It was our favorite Mexican restaurant. Sad to say its gone.

The Roadrunner was closed when we were there in Dec/Jan.
We heard that Margarita's closed down shortly after we left. Sad. Good fish tacos and, suprise, margarita's!

Coconuts and Lemongrass are 2 new ones that were really good, again, this past trip.
Kal

We liked Lemongrass too. We'll have to go to Coconuts next time - so little time, so many places to eat...

Hi Jeff
Just got back from Kaua'i on Friday. Tahiti Nui is still there. I didn't try it unfortunately, but I noticed it was practically empty one night. Zelo's beach house was packed at the same time, so I just assumed Zelos' was better. I must say I didn't have one bad meal the whole 11 days on Kaua'i. Coconuts was very good as was Zelo's.

Thanks for the report. We went to Tahiti Nui a few years ago and thought it was great. Definitely more local than many places, but fun.
