Swimming in NYC?
 

Okay, this is my final(random) question to wrap up my trip plans -- Is there a lap pool I can use around Midtown in NYC? (We're staying in a hotel that has no pool.) I'm looking for something at least 25 yards/meters. Thanks!

Nancy, I'm not sure whether they offer daily memberships, but the YWCA at 53 and Lex has a pool to meet your criteriab (25 yard, 6 lane lap pool). The phone number is 212 755 4500. You could give them a ring and find out.

I don't know about midtown (there is a New York Sports Club with a pool, but I don't know about day membership), but I love Asphalt Green, where you can get a day pass. It's not in midtown though - it's on the Upper East Side at 91st & York.
