I am extremely fortunate. I get 8 weeks paid off per year, and swap off the other 4 weeks for the average 12 weeks I take off per year. No, I do not "work" while traveling. |

Feb - London April - NYC May - Miami October - Maryland for cycling race, NYC November - DC Next year: Jan - VA Beach April - Philly June - Miami October - MD again (same cycling race) My one "big" trip in 2010 is hopefully Finland and Russia for a milestone birthday celebration, but work is holding the strings to vacation while I'm rolling out a big project in Q1 and Q2 of 2010 so I haven't booked yet. Then there's always the quick theater/museum overnight or day trip to NYC that tends to pop up randomly and maybe a quick trip or two back to London to visit family of my SO. |
Now somebody needs to put all this in a spreadsheet so we can see at a glance if any of us will be crossing paths.
How many days do you allot for the 3000-day odyssey, BratsandBeer? |
Now somebody needs to put all this in a spreadsheet so we can see at a glance if any of us will be crossing paths.
No need for spreadsheet. Here's the Fodorite Calendar which was created by BillT last year. Folks don't seem to be too keen on updating it though... :( http://www.my.calendars.net/fodors |
2009- We went to Hawaii - Oahu and Big Island.
2010 - Los Angeles, Big Sur, San Francisco, Yosemite, Death Valley, Zion, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, Palm Springs. That's the plan anyway! (Taking our youngest son and his wife on their first trip to the USA) |
2009:
Costa Rica Seattle and Alaska cruise Cape Cod day trips to DC and NYC 2010: Sarasota & Orlando, FL, plus spring training in Clearwater Italy I usually plan our trips around 18-24 mos. ahead, but 2011 may hold less travel for us b/c my husband isn't earning FF miles as quickly as he used to. |
We went a couple of times to San Antonio and Austin since they are close by. I also took a day trip down to see the whooping cranes near Aransas Pass. We also went to visit family north of Philadelphia. Then in the summer we went to Montreal, Quebec City, and Tadoussac for a vacation. I am thinking of taking a driving trip across TX next summer, out towards El Paso, the Davis and Guadalupe Mountains, and maybe on to Tucson, Arizona.
