surfer dude
I will be on Kaua'i in May and want to surf. I'm a long board man, but still ride my 8.0 . Where should I go?
|
probably to another website where you're more likely to get a better answer.
|
I would re-post with a better title. Something like: Where to surf on Kauai?
|
I could help you with Maui, but not Kaua`i. You might try the Surfline forums.

Howzit bobbyb123, May is transitional time in hawaii surf. Maybe you might catch the last of the north shore swells. Hanalei bay is longboard heaven. Usually may means poipu. Waiohai is popular with longboarders and if the south swell has some size and your a goofy foot, Pakalas outside of waimea is longboard paradise.

What my hubby normally does is to call a few local surf shops upon arrival to get advice. They all surf and know the best spots. In general, each time they have been very friendly and forthcoming with information and haven't steered us wrong once...

My daughter took surf lessons last week from Kauai Surf School through The Nukumoi Surf Co. 808-742-8019.
The are located on Poipu Beach but I'm sure they would know where to go. |
