Sunshine, Snow & "A Steady Rain", we're back, thank you all.
We've been back for a few days and I am determined to do a very comprehensive report to 'pay it forward' for all the wonderful guidance we received. It may take me a while but I just wanted to say thanks for the best trip ever. As a 'taster' a few highlights.
Amazing weather the whole time, NYC on our 3rd trip was wonderful. The tour of the Chelsea markets will forever be a highlight, do not hesitate, if you are the slightest bit interested in food, do it. Hugh Jackman & Daniel Craig were wonderful (hence the above title). Going armed with printouts of restaurant recommendations is a must. Although we didn't use them all, the ones we did were wonderful. We hired bikes and rode around Central park, fantastic.
New England was all that I'd hoped for. The lovely Inns & the wonderful, excentric, funny & kind people who run them & the great relaxed homely atmosphere. To scenery I will never forget, colors that my brain still can't put a name to. And snow......... please. Coming from tropical Brisbane this will always be a wonderful memory, I really thought I'd stepped into the scene from a Xmas card.
So above are some highlights of our two weeks on the East Coast (4 on the west). Thanks to you all for accommodation help, route help, restaurant rec's, tour, theatre tickets, it all went toward another Fodors researched and organised holiday. The best yet.
More details to follow.

Welcome back aussiedreamer. Wasn't it the best holiday? We also had that little touch of snow to cap things off. Have posted my New Hampshire, New York, (although there is still one last day to come) Marblehead and San Francisco trip reports so we can compare notes. Looking forward to reading yours.

A friend is a part-time waiter at the 99 Restaurant in Tilton NH. He had a few parties of Australians this fall and was amazed they would come all this way to look at the leaves. Glad you had a great trip.
