Sunset Ranch Hollywood Dinner Ride

Has anyone experienced a sunset dinner ride with the Sunset Ranch Hollywood? Sounds really great on their website, but I'd appreciate real feedback from fellow Fodorites who've tried it out for themselves. Any information is much appreciated. Many thanks!

skip it - unless you're really wanting to ride the bull. There's so many great places on the strip that offer way better food.

Yeah, I guess the whole horseback experience is more important than the dinner itself really. It's our second visit to LA and we're there for seven nights, so I guess we can live with one so-so meal. Cheers Tony!

I liked it. I went last year, and it was a lovely evening, took about 45 minutes to ride to the restaurant. Food was OK, the beer & margaritas were cold, can't complain. The horses have definitely seen better days, but they made it there and back. You get a view of Hollywood from up (goes through Griffith park) there and the horses tend to ride on the edge of the hills which was kinda scary and fun! Not something I'd do again (I bruise like a peach) but I'm glad I did it once.

Thanks travisblue. Cold margaritas?...what more could a girl ask for after a spell in the saddle?

I've made reservations and am looking foward to the experience.
