Sunset dining in Newport Beach

Hi all,

I'll be traveling to Newport Beach at the end of the month for my birthday. I'd like some recommendations for a good restaurant for watching the sunset at dinner time.

I don't want to spend a fortune and I am a vegetarian. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Las Brisas in Laguna Beach is above and overlooking the ocean - beautiful setting. Even if you don't go for dinner (I'm not sure if the menu works for you), go for drinks!

Las Brisas is a nice suggestion, also in Laguna Beach is The Cliff and Claes @ the Hotel Laguna. The Loft @ the Montage is the less pricey venue, beautiful views of the ocean here which would be nice for a sunset meal. ***kim*** ((l))

if you want something truly inexpensive the original Ruby's at Balboa was fun. It is at the end of the pier.

This is a little 50s-style diner and has no public bathroom (use the one at the base of the pier before you walk out). The shakes are great. There are vegetarian options on the menu--some veggie tacos--but I did not try them.
