Sunset at the Keys

I think anywhere in the Keys makes a great sunset viewing spot (as long as some building isn't in your view).
I've seen many a glorious sunsets from the side of the road. If you want to take a photo, what I try to do is find a spot where there's either some boats, palm trees, or a bridge that I can place in the forefront of the photo. In my opinion, Bahia Honda is a nice little Key. It has a tall [closed to traffic] bridge that you can walk out on for some great views of the surrounding area.

Bearing in mind you don't know where you'll be staying, this is impossible information to provide. Since the keys span a long area, just ask someone where you'll have the best vantage point after you've settled on your accommodations. Anyplace along the Gulf should provide a good view!

As Jim and Susan pointed out, anyplace is good. If you are asking for a resort/restaurant/bar that has some sort of "Sunset celebration", that is a slightly different story. In Key West, of course, Mallory Square is legendary- there is nothing like it in the upper and middle keys. If you have the time go down to KW for the day and do the sunset thing there. If you are pressed for time and can't get down to KW, the Lorelei restaurant in Islamorada also has a nice view and atmosphere.

Good job Ron. Your list, which you have virtually no firsthand knowledge of, is sending a tourist to watch the sunset over US 1. NOW, do you see why we object to your types of postings?
Ron (Sunset for this post) is a Ohio resident with several lists. One looks like the above, the other lists web sites with occasional copped descriptions. Ron, SHOO! SHOO! Dang, you are creepy!

I really don't care what you think nor do I care what you think I think! This is a travel message board & as always, u & others try to stuff something in your face with your bad travel replies! I'm quite knowledgeable about the dining places I recommeded, since I live with the Islamorada area, you jerk! I was recommending some nice dining & some very nice sunsets within these establishments except for one. Of course you had to get off & do your thing! Well, I hope you are proud of yourself again of making a fool out of yourself again. Stick with the replies for travelers who need answers not picking on someone for their replies! Remember, this is a travel message board, of which you have forgotten again! Sorry for all the wasted time I spent here!

ron - we recognize your posts because they're always the same. Long lists with infomation you've read other places. Maybe you've been some of these places, maybe you haven't. But nobody wants to get a list of information that's available to them by reading a travel book.

It's pretty easy to catch the sunset, more important is where you are staying. Along the Keys ( a very long stretch) there a loads of little motels that might be disappointing if you made a reservation at them. There aren't many nice hotels along the way. There are just a few so be careful. Most everything in the Keys is at a slower more casual pace (which is the best feature of the Keys), sunscreen is mandatory, attire is bathing suit, shorts or casual dress and sandals. Men - shorts, dress up or down your t-shirt. Most people have either come from a day of boating or they have been drinking rum runners or have given up life on the main land and have escaped to the Keys so leave your worries behind and enjoy yourself.

Ron!
Listen up. YOU DON'T LIVE IN THE KEYS. YOU LIVE IN OHIO, so cut the "I live in Islamorada" crap. You don't. Never have and never will. Ron the Wannabe Keys Man.
When you aren't spewing lists, you're giving descriptions taken word for flowery word from professional sites. That is plagiarism, honeybuns. Get a life. Go travel somewhere, THEN come back and give travel advice.

Everybody is here because they want information just as much as the other person. So if you are reading a post and start getting that feeling to respond, just take a few deep breaths and think about why and how you are responding. If your post requires anger, ridicule, hostility or disrespect to make your point in a post, then it is a good indication that your point cannot stand on its own merits and should not be posted to a message board. Get it out of your system, but don't post it to the board. Leave it alone. When you are reading post and starting to get agitated at a post or poster, remember this: if you disagree with a post or poster opinion, feel free to express your disagreement, but do not post personal comments about the other poster in the reply! These are some helpful tips that will get this board back to its warm friendly status it once was.
