Sunset at Haleakala Summit - Maui, Hawaii

Haleakala meaning "house of the sun" is a massive volcano in Maui that forms more than 75% of the island. Sunrise/sunset viewing from the summit of Haleakala, at 10,023ft above sea level, is one of the most popular things to do in Maui.

Thank you for sharing. Sunset at Haleakala is truly one of the most spectacular things I have ever seen--or will ever see--in this lifetime.

I went for sunrise, but it was all foggy/overcast so my visit up there was a bust! No pretty sunrise view that morning! ☹️

After 40+ times in Maui, been several times for sunrise, which getting up up at 2:30 am from Kapalua area and being shut out by clouds for the spectacular view.
One time is enough...IMO.

Sunset, I'm usually swimming in the ocean or having drinks and dinner.

I like upcountry in Kula for smoking goat dairy or riding horses with the wonderful Hawaiian cowboys..

Back next week..might do the zip line at Haleakala..

Aloha
