Sunny beach town for Nov reunion?
We are a group of high school friends who want to celebrate turning 40 by spending a weekend somewhere warm in November.
We are looking for direct flights from Minneapolis/St Paul and Washington DC/BWI. Basically, we want a comfortable location with lots of sunshine so we can sit on the beach and catch up on the past 20 years. Any ideas? We are thinking of Miami but worry that it is too hip and club scene oriented. We are also thinking Tybee Island, Georgia or that vicinity but worry that it won't be bikini weather in mid November. We would like to spend under 300-350 per night for a hotel, assuming 2 people per room with two beds (we are all too old to share beds!) Thanks for any ideas! |
Look at the "Florida in November" thread for ideas.

Thanks! I'm searching now!

You do realize that no one can guarantee you'll have sunshine for a specific weekend in November.

If you want sun for sure you could go to Mexico.

A_Traveller, thanks so much for the reminder that the sun does not shine all the time.
Without your caring remark we would have been so saddened to find clouds in the sky after naively thinking it is always sunny in Florida. You must find such comfort in spreading your cheerful optimism around the Fodors forums. Yes, it COULD snow in November in Miami, but it is unlikely. I was simply looking for recommendations of places where we would be able to sit on the beach in the sun in November, if in fact we are lucky enough to encounter good weather. Just saying. To everyone else who gave sincere and helpful answers, I am grateful. suze- Mexico is a great idea. I think we could all be in Cozumel without too much flight hassle. I'm also looking at Bermuda, now. |
