sunlight & sun angle in Alaska
We are planning a visit to Alaska next summer, probably in August. I know the days are long, but I am wondering: Is the sun always high in the sky or does it circle the horizon lower in the sky? We have a couple in our party who need to avoid long periods in direct sunlight, especially when it's high in the sky.

I'm not sure what the intensity of the UV is relative to the continental US but the sun is not always high in the sky. My cousin lives in Delta Junction near Mt. Denali and has described the summer days as moving into a state akin to dusk late at night and then starting to become brighter again as the next day begins. The sun does not stay at one specific intensity or distance above the horizon.
