Sunday Brunch in Houston

I recently moved to the Houston area. I know I'm planning in advance, but I was wondering if anyone could offer Easter Sunday brunch recommendations. There will be two adults and a 22-month old in our party. Thanks in advance for your help.

What part of town are you interested in?

Somewhere in the 610 inner loop would be great. I'm still trying to learn my way around the city. Thanks!

Benjy's on Dunstan in the Rice Village is known for brunch.

Also the Buffalo Grill on the corner of Bissonnet and Buffalo Speedway has great breakfast. And it might be a little more kid-friendly than Benjy's, although it is correspondingly more casual.

Coco,

Great brunches in Houston for a regular Sunday can be found at this link: http://houston.citysearch.com/bestof...boc-results__1

I know many hotels have special Easter brunches, but since I've never been to any, I can't recommend any in particular. Check back to the houston.citysearch website closer to Easter, and there will likely be listings of which restaurants will have Easter brunches. Otherwise, you can contact the restaurants and ask.

I know Benjy's and La Strada have great regular brunches.

I see this is your first post on Fodor's. If you have any other questions about Houston, feel free to ask. (Maybe I can be more helpful then.)

Susan (Welcome to Houston!)

Susan, I regularly refer to your Houston postings.

If you like seafood and/or cajun food, the Magnolia Bar & Grill is your place! Great brunch buffet. Corner of Richmond and Fountainview.

Coco, first of all welcome to Houston.

Are you looking for breakfast buffet or brunch?

I agree with Susan that La Strada is excellent, however, I don't think of it as being particularly "kid friendly". (We went there for brunch on Halloween for our anniversary. The costumes were very entertaining)

Haven't been to Benjy's, but hear good things about it and you have two people with very good taste recommending it. Brennan's is a good choice for a more formal Sunday brunch. We eat breakfast at Berryhill's, but I don't think it would qualify as brunch. My guess is Masraff's would have an excellent brunch.

It has been years since I have been; the Warwick used to have these massive buffet brunches on its terrace. I think they still have a jazz brunch, but can't vouch for the quality. I do know they have done some extensive renovations.

Other places to consider include Hugo's, Tila's, Jalapeno's and Backstreet Cafe.

Let us know how it turns out.

Brennan's might be another good spot.

Ouisie's on San Felipe near Weslayan would be nice. Ruggles on Westheimer near Montrose also. I would definitely steer clear of La Strada on Westheimer with brunch including a little one.

Oh my goodness! Thank you all so much for your help and replies. I really appreciate it. I'll let you know where we end up having brunch.

Thanks again.

Welcome to Houston! We too just relocated back after 4 years. Sorry for the late response, but a Great Kid Friendly Easter Brunch is the Four Seasons Quattro. They actually have a "kid" buffet, everything at their level, and things they like to eat. There is an Easter Egg Hunt, The Easter Bunny, and a "Castle" Play area, where you can check your little ones in, let them frolic with others their age, do crafts and waaaalaaaa you get to eat in peace. It is expensive, but worth it. The adult selection is of course Four Season Quality. Happy Easter! Enjoy!
